Snipes Company began as a part-time contract cleaner in 1969 under the name of Elliott & Snipes Janitorial Services. Their first location was in the home garage of Howard Snipes in upper Lancaster County, South Carolina. In early 1970, a location at 103 Oakland Avenue, Rock Hill, South Carolina became available and the business was moved to Rock Hill.
In 1975, property was purchased, land cleared and a 6000-square-foot office warehouse was built on Pendleton Street in Rock Hill. In 1979, a 3600-square-foot office warehouse was added, in 1985, a 4000-square-foot addition, and in 2002 a 4000-square-foot addition.
