I had travelled extensively in rug producing countries and somehow it all made sense. Based in Boulder the business grew slowly. In 1984 we moved to a large warehouse on Walnut Street and moved again in 2009 to a larger space on Race Ct, . A Denver County plan to redevelop the Stock Yards caused us to move again.

We can clean any type of area rug and specialize in the cleaning of hand-made rugs. Our processes are simple and effective, even for rugs with unstable dyes or condition problems requiring special handling. Rugs are examined for damage, stains, unstable dyes, or other problems that may require special attention prior to cleaning.

Restoration is a technical skill and an art. The best repairs match materials, weave structure, and color undetectably, restoring both value and function to a rug. Restoration and repair is skilled work done entirely by hand. Simple repairs can stabilize a rug to keep further damage from occurring.

We also offer formal written appraisals for a fee. A formal appraisal includes photographs, a technical description, age, origin, condition assessment, an opinion of value, and if necessary, supporting documentation to corroborate our conclusions. Written appraisals are often required for insurance purposes, but in many other situations an informal verbal assessment is enough.
