Sun Light Fine Rug Care & Restoration

I submitted my online request for a quote to have two rugs cleaned and repaired. I received call within the hour from Haim Shemesh with an estimate for the cleaning and they could pick up the rugs in a couple of days. Jenn called to say she would be there to pick up in 45 minutes and arrived on time. Haim emailed me the estimate for the repair and replied to my questions right away.

Today I received my rugs back. Again Jenn called to say she would be there in a hour and arrived right on time. The tattered fringe on both rugs was replaced with new binding that matches perfectly and a cherry soda stain is gone. The rugs look like new. I highly recommend Sunlight Fine Rug Care and Restoration. Professional work, excellent job and the nicest people.

First time I can actually see a difference before and after my carpet was cleaned. The employee was very professional and on time. He offered to do my rugs and I didn't even hesitate to say yes! After seeing how good they are I will definitely continue to use them.

Had an excellent experience with Haim. He came in, made an assessment of my rugs, described the process, and fulfilled his promise. My large rug is so much brighter after being cleaned and the blocking is great. He even picked up and dropped off the rug to me, making the experience very easy. I never write reviews, but very happy with Sun Light rug cleaning. I had a moroccan rug destroyed by another NY cleaner who used a machine. Chaim, the owner, went above and beyond to help me save the rug. I highly recommend Sun Light for rug cleaning, especially if you have anything of value. Customer service and attention to detail is beyond any other cleaner in NY - they actually care about your rug, which is important.

We are very happy with our returned rug. It was a runner in a high-traffic area and close to ruin thanks to our dog. Now it's like having a new rug.

After unfortunate flooding and septic damage to my antique oriental rug (that's been passed down for generations), I decided to call Sunlight Rug Care to hopefully repair these damages. Ben came to pick up the rug and after a few weeks he laid it out and it looked and smelled amazing, almost new. When I took a closer look I was disappointed to find a cut by the fringe that was not there prior to the pickup.

Of course I called very upset and got a very efficient response from Haim Shemesh. After some back and forth, which is normal, Haim said that it wouldn't be the easiest job and that they'd have to redo the entire edge. At this point I got nervous because I had already spent unexpected money to salvage the rug. He was extremely responsive, worked with me to fit within my budget and even went above and beyond to give me a free color fix!

I never write reviews but Haim deserves recognition for this, given that my rug came back looking even better than before with a painless exchange with him and Sunlight Rug Care. I give them five stars and would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Thank you, Haim!

This service was excellent. I'm thrilled with the look of the two rugs. We had not had our two beautiful wool and silk contemporary area rugs cleaned in too many years. They now look fantastic. The pick up and delivery was at exactly the time promised. I highly recommend this company and will be using them in the future.

I had a silk Oriental rug repaired by this establishment. The rug had a hole, was faded in some parts, and had missing fringes. They did an excellent job and were very responsive from a customer service perspective. I’d highly recommend them for fine rug repair.

Haim re-upholstered two sofas and a chair for me. Working with him was fantastic and the results are phenomenal. I met with Haim in advance at my apartment and we discussed the scope of work. He was very detail-oriented, paid close attention to the stitching and design to make the pieces to my exact specification. He was also very easy to work with regarding modifications I wanted to make to the pieces such as changing the cushioning design to make it more modern, changing from feather to foam, and offering honest advice on the design, fabric, cushioning, and stain protection. Haim was very responsive and accommodating throughout the process and delivered the furniture back in a very timely manner.

The furniture looks brand new, actually it's even better than when it was originally purchased. I felt his price was fair and reasonable, especially considering all the detail work he put into the pieces. He added all new foam for free, and even made new custom seat cushions for my dining table benches with the leftover fabric, at an extremely reasonable price. I couldn't be more pleased!

I worked with Haim to figure out how to cut a handwoven rectangular rug into a circle and bind it. He made it easy--communicating by email with photos and videos to be sure we agreed on all details of the placement of the cut and the color of the binding. They are not inexpensive, but I am a very happy customer.

A few weeks ago, I had Haim Shemesh clean my sofa & I was very pleased. He was professional, the price was reasonable & my sofa looks brand new again!
