In 1991, entrepreneurial spirit brought Mark Cappel to launch a venture into the commercial cleaning business. As a result Mark established Scarlet & Gray Cleaning Service. Over the years, Scarlet & Gray has become a full-service commercial cleaning company that focuses on serving academic institutions throughout the Greater Cincinnati Area. We provide year-round daily cleaning, janitorial, and light maintenance service. Our average customer relationship of over 15 years. Scarlet & Gray employs over 280 people, and cleans over 1,800 classrooms and 300 restrooms nightly.

Scarlet & Gray's management team has over 200 years combined of school cleaning experience. We employ 20 full-time operational managers dedicated to the daily care of over 55 schools. Additionally, Scarlet & Gray has many on-site supervisors to ensure the highest cleaning standards. Our team fosters relationships with customers which are conducive to mutual respect, honesty, and fairness.

A few years ago Scarlet & Gray started Beyond Me, a program whose purpose is to recognize students who think beyond themselves, who think of others first. Young people today are busier than ever with academics, athletics, and other extracurricular activities. It is important to encourage students not only to be great students, but also great citizens of their school community as well. Where no such program exists, we seek to start one. We also provide support to schools which have an existing character program.
