The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration (II-CRC) Standard S-100 states that, "When practical, the preferred system for cleaning rugs is to remove them from the customer's home or business and clean them in a controlled 'in-plant' environment". Standard S-100 continues, "Failure to perform specialized procedures may result in permanent damage to the rug and or flooring under and around the rug". It is unfortunate that carpet cleaners convince their customers that they can properly clean wool rugs with their truck mount equipment in the home.

Do you find the name Pressluft unusual? Pressluft is a German word "meaning compressed air". We use compressed air to "dust" or "lift" out pounds of dirt from rugs. Not sure how to pronounce it? It is so easy, just say Press and luft (think lift)- we will be lifting all the dirt out of your rugs! Initially we cleaned commercial and residential carpets, area rugs and upholstered furnishings.

We just had 5 wool/silk carpets/runners, cleaned at Pressluft with excellent results. The carpets look like new, following their cleaning process. We used their services several years ago (on the same carpet) and were similarly impressed this time. They are experienced at cleaning and handling quality carpets and met all of our expectations. The prices were reasonable and included pickup and delivery of the carpets. We highly recommend Pressluft and will be using them again in the future. Thanks Ed and Patty!
