We are Richmond's full service gutter company. We install seamless gutters in both 5" and 6", aluminum and copper, and half round or k style. All of our products are custom made and installed with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship in the market place. We also offer two gutter protection products to best fit your house and budget - Leaf Proof, and Leaf Exterminator. In addition to adding new gutters and guards to your home, we also offer gutter repair, gutter cleaning, gutter polishing, and exterior carpentry.
We receive hundreds of calls every year from home owners stating problems with their gutters. The problems range from water overflowing and running over the gutters, running behind the gutters, spilling onto other parts of the house or ground below. About 90% of the calls could have been avoided with a simple gutter cleaning.

What is the company name? D. E. Powers & Company, LLC dba (doing business as) Mind in the Gutter. One of our original tag lines in our radio, print, and online advertising was "Is your mind in the gutter?" It was so well received that our company name had to be Mind in the Gutter. We still get a few chuckles when we answer the phone Mind in the Gutter - but we hope that it helps people to remember us for all their gutter and exterior solutions. Who is the owner? The business is owned by Ethan Powers. A proud graduate of Virginia Tech, Ethan was born and raised in central Virginia.

Our townhome community hired this company for gutter cleaning in the community and they are horrible. Never again. I would not recommend them to anyone. First they just show up randomly without scheduling a time to clean. Then they use leaf blowers to blow all the debris from the gutters onto roof, and underlying property. They also did not clean up any of the dirt and debris they left on the properties from blowing it with a leaf blower instead of taking it out by hand from the gutters and bagging it like a professional company would. They also did not respond to repeated request to come back and clean up. I do not recommend this company at all.

This company installed gutters on my home twelve years ago. They continue to check and maintain them. The product and installation has been proven to be of great quality. The most recent service this company rendered was cleaning of the gutters. The customer service was professional, yet caring. This review was neither solicited nor compensated for in any way.

I would not recommend using this company. I have called Ethan several times and have emailed him. I have gotten no response back from him. He installed gutters, downspouts and gutter guards for @ $3000.00 a few years back. Now I am having some issues with the hangers coming loose and a downspout. Its been weeks now that I have tried to reach him. I guess now that the job is complete they don't back their product. I will not be using him again and would recommend others to use another more responsive company and professional company.

Missed the initial quote appointment with no heads up, missed the work date with no heads up, and managed to install gutters that still let the rain run down the fascia. Also tore the paint off the fascia when tearing off the old gutters, which looks terrible. In their haste to leave, the crew also left previous gutter material (metal and vinyl) in the yard, as well as all the torn paint and gutter leaves/trash in the yard and vegetation.
I have reached out several times to discuss their "warrantied" labor, but no response by email, text, or call. Ethan seemed like a good enough guy when we met, but the business does not reflect that whatsoever. The rusted and sapling-growing gutters that were previously on the house at least moved the water to the gable ends of the home. I regret involving these contractors in my first home purchase. Edit: Through the BBB complaint process, Mind in the Gutter came back out and installed flashing, adjusted some downspout/elbows, and touched up the damaged paint.
I have no issues with the resolution to date, and I am satisfied with the current condition. This was likely a communication issue more than anything, as Ethan stated he had to pull my emails from spam. This was the same email address that had worked earlier, so I am unsure where the issue arose.

Efficient and thorough! I coordinated and scheduled my gutter-cleaning all via email which was very convenient. I am extremely happy with the customer service beforehand as well as the day of my cleaning. They cleaned everything up afterwards and notified us of the major blockage they'd discovered and cleared. Their price was fair and I definitely recommend Mind In The Gutter!

I have used Mind In The Gutter for many years, but can no longer recommend them. They do not respond to calls or emails on a timely basis, they do not show up for scheduled appointments, they do not notify you when they can't make it, and they do a poor job when they finally do arrive. They just make excuses for their poor business practices if they do respond.
