This review is a little overdue but last year I picked up a large sectional couch that was in really bad shape. It was free so I didn't mind paying to have it cleaned. Glenn came out and made it like new! Since then he has done some smaller cleaning jobs for my family like few rugs and car interior. We definitely recommend Genie Carpet!

Genie Carpet Service is terrible & this is why: 1. Hugely overcharges. I didn't know this until I priced 2 other companies who did a great job. ex. $500 for an area that a company recommended to me charged $188. 2. The owner, Robert Peters, brought 3 oriental rugs back I'd had him clean. He wanted to just leave them and for me to get someone to place them. I'd paid a large amount and he is responsible for putting them back where he got them!

He became rude to my decorator who was explaining where it should go. He was so rude to this lovely woman who couldn't have been nicer. I had to ask him to please listen to me and my decorator and not argue with where we wanted the rug placed. I was stunned at his attitude and behavior. Also he brought no one to help place the rugs. My decorator was helping unroll 3.

He brought a thick rug pad for an oriental runner but did not open the closet doors in the hallway where it went. I trusted all was fine and was so glad for him to leave. I called him and told him the doors would not open over the thick pad. He began arguing saying they worked. I reiterated they didn't. He became verbally abusive on the phone.

He simply lied. The doors came ajar and that is all. He was rude and argumentative. Just don't cross him. He's all friendly when you use him and don't question anything - expense or anything. In 40 years of service companies, some were excellent, some just ok, but NEVER has anyone been as rude as he was.

Genie Carpet Cleaning is the BEST! I have a large area rug that my pets had done their damage to. I called Genie and a very nice man named Glen King came to my house. This guy knew more about cleaning carpets than anyone probably should know. He made my rug look brand new. So after my experience, I told my realtor friend about Genie. She sells nice houses to rich folks with lots of Persian rugs. Well, she referred a client to Genie and had such a great experience that she now refers all of her clients to them. Seriously, these guys are the best!

Whatever you do stay away from these people. They overcharge for their services using the same equipment other companies use. Next they continue to hit you with high pressure sales and argue with you if you don't want to pay the rates they are asking. Don't schedule them, don't call them, forget them.

I am only giving one star because Glenn was considerate at doing a good job for me. However, I would not recommend them to anyone. First of all it says they specialize in eliminating cat urine smells. Wrong, mine came right back and my carpet was less than a year old so this was a fresh spot and a new problem in our house. And secondly, because when I called to ask about having my area rugs cleaned, Robert Peters answered the phone and what a complete jerk he was to me.

He actually laughed at me told me that I was asking ridiculous questions. Who says that to a customer? I was trying to understand if it was a chemical type cleaning or if they used a water with soap process. I do not normally write reviews unless something is wonderful but if you talk to Robert, make sure you ask the right questions. He is a real a-hole.

LIARS & THIEVES! This company's website tries to present it as a trusted and honest business, which is one of the reasons why we contacted them. We explained in detail over the phone what we wanted done (including room sizes) and were given an estimate of approx $300.00. Based on this estimate we set up an appointment. Once at the house they took some measurements and decided that the the price had gone up to $640.00, which was double the estimate.

We have a median home and I fail to see how their estimate could be off by over 100%. We begrudgingly agreed but we feel totally ripped off. I later contacted the owner for an explanation of the discrepancy but he didn't even have the courtesy to respond, but based on the business ethics of his company, it doesn't surprise me. AVOID!
