Experience with Dempsey leaves much to be desired. Frequent problems with missing uniforms. Items may be taken out of service for repair, but, no one is notified. Repairs may take several weeks. Uniforms are ordered, individuals are paying for their uniforms, however, it may take several weeks until all of their uniforms are received. You send messages to route representatives and get no response.

As a small business owner I know how difficult it can be to compete with the big guys. That's why I pride myself in working with other small businesses. Not these guys. I waited 6+ weeks for logo mats I had ordered with an agreement that was signed before everything was designed. The owners came back and said I actually need to pay $700 to get the mats printed, and they changed their policy without updating their paperwork.

I asked the poor sales guy to see what he could do, and instead of honoring an agreement they told me to pound sand. I definitely felt 'treated like family'. if we're talking about my birth mother.

It's a family run business and the owners are really vested in the best interest of their employees, they know everyone who works here by name and treat them as a part of their family. I've seem several employees start off as part time workers who have worked their way up through the ranks, hard workers are recognized and rewarded! Our restaurant uses Dempsey tablecloths, and the product couldn't be worse or less consistent. We started with black. Impossible to get two of the same shade of black; and we get 15-20 at a time. They range from grey to death black, and everything in between. Tried maroon. Even worse. No two alike. This time, multiple tablecloths had holes burnt clean through them and huge patches over old holes using WHITE thread. Incredible.

Finally decided to try white because "What can go wrong?" Brown and black stains as if they were walked on before being sent to us; that's what. Horrible. Not to mention when I asked if they had round tablecloths for our round tables, I was told "They're too expensive for you. You don't want them." Rude. Unprofessional.

Well i worked thier for almost 4 weeks doing janitor. And the guy that they have in charge of that area john he fired me over nothing at all and then he had the never to lie about the whole thing but the place its self is an awsome place to work its just not for that guy he makes their name look bad because he is never really thier and he leaves whenever he wants to and he has no communication skills at all if they got rid of him they would be able to keep poeple and have no trouble at all with that department well iam wrong about this whole place they lie about everything just to cover thier poeple instead of being honest and facing the truth they will not let anyone prove them wrong they lied about me why they fired me it is a place for no one to be its a very bad place to work at because they use the law about the will at right law they are no family

My wife has worked here for a long time in the past. I'm giving it 4 stars because they are generally nice people. These people I'm referring to are the owners. Pj Dempsey is a really nice guy. He is interesting and runs a tight ship. He is fair but tough in the way he handles his business. The pay is competitive for the area. Their insurance is constantly changing so I can't speak on that behalf. It's usually also competitive for the local businesses. I guess it's all in what you are looking for in a career. Put it this way it pays the bills and nothing else.

I own a Janitorial business in the Wyoming valley and clean a surgery center in Kingston pa that gets mopheads from Dempsey. They are the most disgusting I have ever seen in the 20+ year I've been in business. Most of them are dry rotten smell like a bar or a restaurant kitchen floor though they are supposed to be clean and fresh and filled with hair and even oil somtimes.

Be very aware of the shady practices from Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply. I was verbally told that I would be able to cancel after my contract was up due to being unhappy with the constant dirty linens they would bring me. Since I only had a few months left I decided to take the high road and honor my contract. When the end of our contract came, we were told that we never canceled in writing and that the contract had an automatic renewal and I could not leave and if I did they would sue me - BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS VERY UNETHICAL! I refuse to be bullied by these unethical tactics and will fight them for not offering the service that I required.

I called the company to get some linens for my spa business. They sent out a nice sales rep to go over our options. He explained all of our options along with pricing rates. After coming to an agreement on the rate for services we were ready to get started. He stopped by the next week to show us an actual sheet so we could feel the quality of their linens.

We signed the contract and waited another week. This week we receive a call from the sales rep informing us that they don't do the linen service that we signed up for and that I would have to order more products to receive the services and rate that was stated on the contract. It is never good business to wait until AFTER a contract is signed to change your contract. The sales rep was very apologetic and made it clear that he didn't agree with the decision and also was unaware of the policy. What a waste of time.

I did a stint here for 2 months. Was probably my least favorite place to work in my life but as a business, they do provide a good and honest service. Dempsey is a local family owned business that has grown into a multi-million dollar company region wide. They provide uniforms, linens, mats, bathroom supplies, medical & auto shop supplies, etc for businesses in the area.

I don't have an interest in their company at all but I can honestly say that we were drilled to provide customers with the best service, no pressuring into ordering more supplies than they needed and even suggested cutting back on things like tablecloths and towels if a particular client was in a slow season. Dempsey wanted to build a personal relationship with their customers.

I do believe they aren't necessarily the cheapest uniform/supplies supplier but they are competitive with the others and will look out for your business in order to save you time and money. check them out if your business is in need of uniforms and supplies for medical office, auto mechanics or restaurants.
