I only recently started writing reviews on Yelp again, and have to update the review on D-Mac, unfortunately. I feel badly that I didn't update it all these years, as I know I rely on the information in other people's reviews to help me make decisions about what companies to use. I also feel awkward about it because my interactions with the owner were very positive at the time and I was originally very happy with his company's work. However, within 2 months of our new shower being installed, the shower/ tub handle fell off.
Since I felt like the owner of D-Mac had helped us out, I didn't call to let him know about that first failure. I just let it go. Then we began getting black mold in the grout (where the tub meets the fiberglass? shower wall). I tried everything to get rid of it, even calling the manufacturer at one point for advice. I was embarrassed and frustrated by it, but I thought it was just that I wasn't cleaning it right somehow.
It didn't occur to me that it was an issue with installation. Then three years after we had our bathroom remodel, we discovered a leak under the bathroom sink that had gone undetected for awhile and damaged the cabinet, causing mold. When my husband took in the sink faucet to Lowe's, they said whoever had installed it had installed it incorrectly, adding some kind of molding or something that wasn't supposed to be there.
And we asked for advice about the black mold at the same time, and showed them what type of shower we had (recommended by D-Mac, they bought it at Lowe's). Turns out the type of shower that was installed was not supposed to have caulking/ grout. D-Mac's employee had installed it incorrectly, again. Sometimes I guess you don't really know how good a job has been done (or not done) until months and even a couple years after the fact.
Maybe the owner just had a really incompetent employee at the time, but if so, he should have done a better job of supervising him. We told him we were fixing it up so we could move, but ended up staying in San Diego. I can't help wondering if he either 1) didn't bother checking his employee's work since it was a low budget job or 2) realized the mistakes, but figured we'd be long gone anyway.
Either way, it didn't turn out to be a good experience after all. The irony is we were afraid when we originally hired them that we had mold issues in the bathroom - but didn't. We only ended up with mold- under the bathroom sink cabinet and in the shower cracks that weren't supposed to have caulking- as a result of using their services.

We had our right next door neighbor accidentally flooded our office floor so we searched for a flood & mold specialist. We use Yelp and found D- Mac Restoration Inc. These guys are very professional, easy to deal with and were immediately physically here at office to work on our building. Both the response flood team and restoration teams are great most especially Basil who brought in those massive blower fans, dehumidifier machines and took off our floor boards. Also, the reconstruction guy named Victor G. who came in to install our flood boards and painted then in the time that we requested.
We had to shut down for half day and they met their deadline with excellent work. We are completely satisfied with the entire experience. I higly recommend them for exceeding our expectations.

I can't say enough great things about this company. From beginning to end these guys were honestly my saving grace through this pipe leak. They handled our pack-out from our home into our storage pod and garage. They accommodated me whenever scheduling was needed. Having a pipe burst which causes you to move out is one of the most trying situations you can go through. However with d Mac they make it as easy as possible for you and take care of you. Calvin came out today and cleaned my sofa and carpets. I've had them done before (usually once every 8-12 months) and no one has taken so much care and time and attention to detail as Calvin. This company came referred to me by a neighbor, and now I will definitely refer them to my friends and family. Make sure to ask for Calvin to be your cleaner as you will be VERY satisfied with his work and professionalism.

DMAC came to my rescue with water damage and mold from condo above me. All I can say is that this company really impressed me with their work ethic and reliability. Dan the owner was very hands on and compassionate. When I cried at the damage I saw in my kitchen/vanity and 2nd bathroom, walls with plastic, and demolished, he was sincerely concerned.

I have used these guys 2 times because of a couple unfortunate events in my house. They were knowledgeable, very professional, and kept the job clean! D-Mac is the best when you are distressed by water damage! I recently experienced a flood from my adjoining neighbor's house. When D-Mac arrived, they took care of everything! If you call them first, they could save you lots of money with the insurance company, too! D-Mac restored my house quickly, professionally and the insurance money covered everything! I needed my carpets cleaned and D-Mac responded the same day. Adan arrived within 5 minutes of the appointment time and went right to work cleaning the carpets. Office staff was great but the technicians left rust stains. They came back out to remove after insisting they were "already there" which they most definitely were not. After their second time to our unit, they left a nasty grease stain around the front entry walkway along with dirty footprints. Needless to say we lost money on our deposit and after emailing three times for a refund. guess what?
No response. You get what you pay for. I have never asked a company for a refund or left a review like this. I have worked customer service and know the importance of not trying to be a pain customer but this was unacceptable.

My husband, Steve, already gave a 5 star review upon completion of our 50k flood renovation. But I just wanted to follow up a year later to say that after a year, not only is our home more beautiful than ever, and we have had NO problems, but most importantly, Jim is a contractor that you can trust. Currently I am dealing with a landscape contractor that has not only baited-and -switched me, but has also verbally assaulted me, This just made me think about the excellent experience We had with Jim at Dmac.
I guess I just expect professionals to be professional, but obviously that is not the case. Jim and his crew were in my home for several weeks, and not only was their craftsmanship exemplary, but most importantly I felt safe and respected as a woman in my own home.

We recently had a water leak in our house and was referred to Jim at D-Mac Restoration for repairs to damages. We needed dry wall patching, paint, laminate floor install, baseboards, kitchen cabinet removal and reinstall. Jim had the jobs all lined up perfectly so that when one was completed, they were ready and prepared to start the next one. He was very professional and very nice.
I am very satisfied with all work completed. Of course dealing with dry wall repairs and the cutting of wood, dust is inevitable. We had used D-Mac's carpet cleaning services and they were able to set up an appointment for the following day. Overall, we are very satisfied for all services by this company. We have had estimates and work done by other companies and am so grateful to have found such honest and hardworking people.

So I've been using D-MAC for 3 years now. Love them! Robert use to be the tech that came to my place. He was great. But no longer works for the company. I had a pleasure to work with Jason. Wow another great technician. Definitely an expert at what he does. He explained how the break down of stains. You know chemical enzyme talk! Lol. Anyways I primarily had him come to my place to clean a love seat I have bought of of Craig's list. It's darling.
But when I got it home. It was SOOOO DIRTY! I dare sit on it. Was going to have it re-upholstered but decided to see if it can get cleaned first. Jason did not disappoint. He spent a lot of time cleaning the love seat. He then told me best way to have it evenly dry. Well it looks great! I included a before and after photo. He also cleaned inside of my closets and spot stained my place where I have cats. Again great job Jason. You'll now be my go to guy!

We had a difficult situation about 3 years ago involving moisture vapor incursion into our concrete foundation. D-Mac came highly recommended and that was a solid endorsement. The work that they did was explained to us and completed with total control of the situation. They did floor surface removal, reconstruction of a wall footer, painting, re-stuccoing.they were on time and worked cleanly.
In the completion of the job, some small damage was done to oversized mirrored closet doors. Dan(the owner) indicated when it was time to replace the doors, he would make sure it was done correctly. It took us a number of years to get the vapor problem diagnosed and remediated by other companies that specialize in such things, but it was handled professionally and completely.
After this, I called Dan to let him know that we were ready to the have doors installed and he had his team install new closet doors that I ordered, and they picked up from Dixieline Miramar, PERFECTLY(and at no cost for labor) within two business days. Dan is a straight shooter and will tell you what you need for a project, and will not push you towards unnecessary work. He stands behind the work his business does and we would use his services again in a heartbeat if they were required.
