We tired cleaning our own carpet in previous years, but we were never completely happy with the results. Decided to let the pros have a shot at it and they did not disappoint. They cleaned our carpet, our rugs, and our upholstery and we thought they did a fantastic job. We will use them again.

These guys are the best. I've used them three times now and always professional and on time. I made the mistake of using chem dry and had to call Flat Rate Carpet to come get the stains out that chem dry couldn't. Chem dry charged $50 more for the same carpets. Again 4 stars and the fourth time I have used them.

The guy was very quick and careless. He moved my couch inspite of me asking him not to do so. He was so uncareful that one of the couch steel legs bended and was half broken! Also I keep finding missed spots on a carpet (see photos).

The guy who showed up when they said they would, (sorry, forgot his name) was very knowledgeable, I expressed my concerns with specific areas of the rug because our dog had thrown up on our silk rug. After explaining how they would get the stain and smell out they picked up my rug, cleaned it and delivered it. The day they delivered it I was so excited with the results I asked to clean a sofa and 2 chairs I was meaning to get done.

I was able to get a quick appointment and done. After my rug was delivered I was very impressed with the results. I can say definitely say I will start using them on a regular basis and completely recommended!

One word: sketchy. I totally felt taken advantage of by flat rate carpet. They took my rug to make an estimate on a repair, I had to call three times over the course of a week to get the estimate. I decided the price for repair was too high and I frankly didn't trust them to do that kind of work based on our interactions. I ended up getting a cleaning though - how can anyone mess that up? Well.

They had two prices, deep cleaning and regular. I chose regular and was charged for deep. It took another week to get my rug after cleaning. Both times the person that picked up and dropped off my rug was late for the appointment window. First by 30 minutes, then by 2 and a half hours. Look elsewhere unless you like wasting your time and money.

Not what they said! I was told it would be minimum $65 to clean one room wall to wall carpet. When the "estimator" came, he said it would be $150! I felt like I was dealing with a used car salesman! Told me I needed shampoo, rust resistor etc. I refused. Showed him the receipt of carpet cleaning services for two rooms plus a sofa I had done 3yrs ago and paid $25 for all Svc!(via groupon, but still, Really!) we settled at $90 -cash, for 1 room.

I feel like I was overcharged.ive never paid this much for carpet cleaning even when I had 2,r ooms. Jimmy, the technician, did do a good job in cleaning.he did not move furniture or lift bed, but got the job done. I would not use them again based on the "sales pitch" method.

I hired Flat Rate Carpet to clean my living room and stairway carpets. I have kids and animals so they get a lot of wear and tear. The cleaner who came by was very friendly and professional. They did an amazing job, my carpets look even better than when I first moved into my home. They did such an amazing job I've scheduled an appointment for them to clean my couches also.

We are a trading firm and have used Flat Rate annually for 5 years. When we contacted them this year, there was a lack of response to our email for over a week. After several phone calls they gave us a completely new email address to use for them. Next we tried to schedule the work but again that took over a week to reply to the email and only after we threatened to take our business elsewhere.

Then it was another week before we received the proper quote and COIs because the versions initially given to us were wrong. As for the job itself, they unplugged a computer which is against policy and beyond comprehension. Then they plugged it back into the wrong port, which took us 3 hours to figure out. However, the big problem was they also blew a circuit at some point which was bad enough but made worse because they didn't bother to relay that information to ANYONE.

Our office trades 24/7 and this caused huge issues for us. This company is careless, unresponsive, and unprofessional. We wrote an email to them with this feedback but as expected. RADIO SILENCE.

They did a great job on my sofa, a white sectional that was quite dirty from 7 years of use. He used a solution and wand tied to a machine to go over the entirety of the sofa and then brushed each piece by hand. It looks 10x better than it did. The pictures really don't do it justice. Plus, he was right on time and left no trace of having been in our apartment. I would definitely recommend Flat Rate Carpet.

My wife and I are staying at my grandma's house for a few months while our daughter, born 3 months early, is in the hospital getting strong enough to come home. Grandma's condo is much closer to the hospital than our apt in Astoria. Since one of us goes every day of the week, distance is important. Anyhow, the carpeting in the bedroom was extremely dusty and causing us extreme allergic reactions.

Every morning both of us would wake up hacking and coughing with deep eye crusties from overnight allergy attacks. Not the sort of thing we want to expose our preemie to! It got so bad that we couldn't stand another day in the condo. The bedroom was going to get a thorough deep cleaning or we were leaving. So we set on a search-and-destroy mission for dust mites and dust.

We dusted every nook and cranny, but of course, there was the carpet which was hopelessly dusty and probably was infested with dust mites. I called 3 major carpet cleaner companies. I explained our situation and while they were empathetic, they couldn't give us an appointment for days. I called Flat Rate Carpet on a lark. The guy on the phone said he didn't have any free appointments, but after I explained our situation, and that this wasn't just another "I want a clean carpet" kind of situation, he was able to squeeze us in.

We were SO relieved. What's more, not only were we given same day service due to extenuating circumstances, but they gave us a particular time that the cleaners would arrive, and guess what? They arrived on time, on the dot. I have to admit that I thought the carpet was a lost cause, but between the deep cleaning / dust mite treatment that Flat Rate Carpet did and our extreme "kill all dust particles" approach to cleaning the room, our allergies were completely gone within 48 hours.

It turns out the cleaning guy forgot to do our bedroom closets since they're a little hard to see. We contacted the owner, and he made everything right. It's clear from my interaction with him that the owner has a very keen and vested interest in growing the business and keeping his customers satisfied is of paramount importance. I didn't think he'd go through such great lengths to keep us happy with the service.

I was truly touched by his gestures and good faith. Anyway, I have to say, Flat Rate Carpet is a First Rate Company in my book. I'd definitely use this company again, no hesitation.

The company sent someone to do an estimate for the carpet cleaning for free. The guy gave me 3 options and pricing: Steam, basic and deep shampoo. Based on the condition of the living room (pet urine and dirt), it required deep cleaning for living room & hallway. The original pricing was $375 for living room and bedroom! I sent the guy off and ready to do some more research. 30 minutes later Daniel from the Office call said there is Black Friday sales, all service is 50% off.

At the end i paid $159 for both room. The condition in my bedroom is not as bad but I figure since i stay there a lot, why not take care of it all at once. It will last 2-3 years. The appointment window was between 8-10am, I misunderstood and thought it was the work window. So i was a bit unhappy to wait till 9am. Two guys came and the whole job took about 40 minutes.

They both work hard, lifting my bed, the couch, scrub the carpet, vacuum, did a great job, especially my hallway. I am very happy with their service and friendly attitude. No tip was required but I figure its the holiday and I tip them $20, win-win! I recommend this company to all. Just remember to negotiate pricing before, confirm pricing when the guy arrive, make sure the move furniture without extra charge. Most importantly, give them some tips if you are happy, like me :)

This company was great to work with! The staff were very friendly, service was convenient and efficient and there is free pick up and delivery. The rug we got cleaned was very stained and would not come clean with resolve and scrubbing at home. They brought it back in a week looking spotless. It was 8' x 10' and only cost 110$. An amazing deal compared to other companies. I completely recommend them and will use them again!

I had a bad experience with this firm. I have a treasured sisal rug with a tapestry border trim. I called, on the recommendation of a colleague, asking if this firm could replace the rug and re-bind it with the original trim. The receptionist was dim-witted, insisting that they send "a rug specialist" to my home in Westchester to inspect the rug. Fearing a "we can clean it" hustle, I struggled for a clear answer: can you replace the rug and rebind with the original binding. Ultimately, the receptionist prevailed and booked an appointment for a "certified rug specialist" to come and inspect the rug.

I stayed home a day from work, and the "certified rug specialist" appeared on schedule. He looked at the rug and said it could be cleaned for $300. I explained that it had already been professionally cleaned, and that the spots had not come out, plus that it was worn, and that I wanted to replace it (as I'd already explained several times to the dim-witted phone agent.) "OK, " he said. "How about $200." So much for "certified rug specialist.

When I expressed my displeasure at how this whole transaction was going, he called his manager/boss -- Michael -- on his cell phone. Michael said that, of course, they could provide the service I wanted, and asked if I could send him some pictures of the rug. (Ironically, I'd tried to send pics when talking with the brain-dead receptionist.) So I sent a half dozen pics and a completely cogent, lucid request to Michael. Response: Nothing.

Two week later, I resent everything and asked again for a response. Nothing. This appears to me to be a totally fake company, scamming people with in-home extortion when it comes to rug repair. Read the other comments, and PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Note: I had written a negative review previously on Flat Rate, but they would only refund my payment ($540) if I removed the review. They would not fix the damage that they caused if I used another vendor to fix it, despite evidence and pictures showing the damage. Basically, they cleaned an antique beni ourain rug we had after our dog threw up on it.

They talked me into cleaning the entire rug and treating it - which I was assured would not cause any damage. When the rug was returned it was bare and falling apart in places, and the texture and pile was matted down and dull and stiff. Not the soft long fluff we so loved about it. It took a couple months of calling to get them to take me seriously and call me back - I kept asking for the owner.

After getting repair estimates from other professionals (they were not sure the pile issue could be corrected!) and getting it somewhat treated with (+ $400) by a different company, it still is not the same. Major bummer. Save yourself the time and use someone else. I think it says a lot that they would only reimburse the cost they charged us (to basically ruin the rug and nothing else) if we removed the review. Try ABC carpet instead.

I came across Flat Rate when I exited the BQE due to heavy traffic and saw a billboard for carpet cleaning. I have a big 11x13 hand tufted area rug that my dog who passed away peed on. Since I was really saddened by the loss of my pet, I neglected to clean the carpet for about 4 years. It was during the middle of a move that I decided I would pack it up and give cleaning a try.

The acid from the stains took away a lot of the dye which was blue, a very unforgiving color for pet stains. I spoke to Daniel who sent a team to pick up my rug for a free assessment to see what they could do. I was going to give up but he convinced me that he would do his best to restore the rug and gave me a 100% back guarantee if I was not happy with the cleaning.

I received the rug yesterday and I must say they were able to get about 90% of the stains out. Given the condition and length of time that the stains were left there, I am very happy with the outcome which exceeded my expectations.

I used these guys to trim and surge a very large rug as it would not fit in my new apartment. Flat Rate Carpet was professional and easy to work with. They provided an estimate in person, picked up the rug a few days later, and had it back to me within a week and a half. They did not charge me above the estimate and the pickup and delivery of the rug was free. Very pleased with these guys - will probably use them in the future when I need to get the rug cleaned.

We had an accident in our office where some orange liquid spilled in one of the associate's offices and we needed the carpeting cleaned ASAP. We called Flat Rate and they showed up within an hour of the call, addressed the issue and did a good job. The stain is just about completely gone, and I don't hold them responsible as they worked and did everything humanly possible to resolve the problem.

In addition, their guys were friendly, responsive and not in heavy-duty, over-the-top oversell mode. A big plus, based on what I saw in these pages. I'd call them again without hesitation.

I read this only review that was not filtered AFTER the guys came and took my carpet. I immediately started panicking. Well, my carpet came back to me looking as when I originally bought it. My pooch had 2 accidents on it and I was scared the wee wee smell wouldn't come out and would linger. The company came to my apt promptly at the scheduled time.

They picked up my carpet and took less than 20 minutes. A day later I found a coupon on line that they WOULD NOT honor, which was annoying. Also they took nearly 2 weeks to return my carpet, perhaps because it was during the holiday season. When they returned the carpet it looked good, completely dry, no mildew smell, and no wee wee smell. They do take it off premises, which to me is nerve wracking but my experience was good. The cost was $175 for deep cleaning and pet stain removal.

I am HORRIFIED with the customer service of this company. I paid $400 to have 1 couch and 1 chair cleaned and it was the WORST mistake of my life! STAY AWAY! I love how they have 2 YELP listings to try and hide the other one because the reviews were so poor. I'm the nicest and easiest person to please. AND I'M PISSSSSSSED! They don't care about anything, just to get your money.
