Boyd Roofing provides the level of professionalism and expertise necessary for me to refer their service to my clients. They are not afraid to take on difficult projects and offer realsolutions. Samuel Boyd, Inc. replaced our entire roof - they were prompt, helpful and when they found additional problems, discussed them with us and suggested solutions.
Your choice of roofing material can be one of the most important decisions you make to bring out the beauty of your home and extend the useful service-life of your roof system. Whether you are looking for asphalt roof shingles, concrete or clay tile, wood shakes, slate or other specialty products, Boyd Roofing has the right product for the job.
A flat roof is horizontal or nearly horizontal and is covered by a material that should allow water to run off freely from a very slight angle or pitch. Traditionally flat roofs would use a tar and gravel based surface. However, these surfaces would tend to fail in colder climates, where ice could block the flow of water.

Called about gutter cleaning and they were out within 2 days. The crew did a thorough job. Reasonable rates.

We bought a complete fixer-upper eleven years ago. In our first year of owning the home, we had thirteen contractors come through the house. Only one company came in under their estimate for the work-Samuel C Boyd Inc Roofing. Before we discovered Boyd roofing, we tried other roofers. It is the ultimate irony that, in the home improvement industries, stereotypically none are lower than roofers.

That stereotype does not apply to Boyd, however. We have a slate roof home, and Boyd has kept us in good stead, patching the roof whenever and wherever it needed it over the years. This is a roofing company that has my complete trust! Our slate was an eighty year slate called "Bangor Slate." It finally reached the end of it's life expectancy, and we called in Boyd for an estimate.

I asked Dan Rank, the owner of the company for his honest opinion about the various slate replacement, lookalike products that are on the market. After a very candid discussion with Dan, my wife and I decided to go with the very expensive, but sure bet, of a new slate roof. We are thrilled with the job that Samuel C Boyd Inc Roofing did for our home.

Our new slate is a 100 year slate called "Riverstone." Our home could get passed down to three generations of our progeny, and our great-grandchildren will still be under a very sound roof. The workers were extremely professional. The work was extensive. Over thirty thousand slate tiles, weighing almost ten thousand total pounds were hoisted and individually nailed into place. Copper flashing and many copper snow guards were also installed.

The look is absolutely stunning. While Dan didn't do any of the work on the roof itself, he was here almost every day of the two full work weeks that it took to remove the old slate roof and install the new one. He was very conscientious with regard to controlling the quality of the work. Once, he saw a chipped roofing tile had been installed, and he instructed the foreman to remove it and replace it with a new tile.

The workers accidentally dented one of our copper gutters, and Dan had them replace it at no cost to us. At one point during the work, I noticed how mismatched our bay window looked with the new slate on the roof. I asked Dan about it, and he told me that it wasn't in the initial contract. When I said I'd like to include it in the work, Dan offered to pick up the cost of doing it at no charge. What more can a customer say? This is far and away the best company we have used to date in literally renovating our house from top to bottom!
