A Plus Carpet

We were looking for a flooring company to correct a prior installation problem as well as to install engineered hardwood in three additional rooms. We called A Plus Carpet and Flooring, had one of their reps come and take measurements, etc. He sent us a summary of his info and found some of his details were incorrect. In addition, we wanted separate proposals for the bedroom (carpet) and great room (hardwood), with the two remaining rooms (living and dining rooms, hardwood) be combined.

We couldn't get a response from him, called A Plus and spoke with 'Nathan' who apologized for the confusion and offered to set up a meeting for him and the owner, Eric Rome, to come to our home, take correct measurements and discuss what we were looking for. The date and time arrived - no one from A Plus showed up. We waited a bit before calling, spoke with Nathan again, and was then referred to Mr. Rome.

He had some questions about the original summary, said he'd be sending us something via email very shortly, in 10 minutes. Thirty-five minutes later we'd still not received anything, tried calling A Plus but got no answer. This morning we were determined to get some kind of answer as we were really being jerked around. Nathan informed us they didn't deal with the manufacturer that made the engineered hardwood and therefore could not do the job.

So after repeatedly being jerked around and lied to, no apologies whatsoever, we came to the conclusion that A Plus Carpet and Flooring is a joke. Don't waste your time.

I needed to replace the flooring in my house in order to sell. A Plus was recommended by a friend. When I explained what I needed, the sales rep showed me what products they had in stock to help keep the cost down. On the days of installation (one day for hard floors, one day for carpet) the workers called prior to 9am to say they were on their way. All installers were polite and professional. I highly recommend.

A great experience from sales to installation. Had a problem with the flooring material about to be installed on my stairs and management resolved this immediately. Installers were professional, did an excellent job and made the new flooring seamless with the existing flooring. Highly recommended.

He was very knowledgeable about carpet installation and made some great recommendations based on my desired color and texture. After the meeting I received several detailed proposals at different price points.

We hired A Plus to install gym flooring in our basement. We had flooring already in another room in our home that was basically seamless that I installed but wanted to use a professional due to the transitions in the carpet. The day the installers arrived they did wonderful work on the edges (shoe molding, carpet transitions) but the product they used was rolled down (instead of interlocking) which created 2 large seams in the flooring.

Due to the glue coming through the seams, they used Acetone to try and remove it, which then discolored the rubber. We have been trying to work towards a solution and the company continually says they will call back and won't. When you finally talk to someone, they aren't able to provide a date to "repair" their work. This was a $2,400 project, they charged our credit card after we refused to pay by check due to the poor work quality and now we're left with a rather unsightly floor.

Review the pictures and judge for yourself if this is the company for you Update: The owner contacted us and offered to install new flooring to remedy the defects in the original install. Unfortunately we have to move on to a more involved home improvement project and weren't able to allow him the opportunity to correct the issues we encountered. He did also provide a discount on the services based on our disappointment. This shows a real level of dedication in making things right

I bought carpets and wood floors from A plus two years ago. The engineer wood wasn't a good quality and I contacted the owner Eric, he was very willing to do all he can to satisfying me. And two months later he kept his promise and did a complementary carpet cleaning for me. Tim did a great job cleaning my carpet. I will do business with them again

We picked all in stock items and they were installed within 5 business days. We re did all the floors in our home so we used carpet, tile and vinyl plank flooring. It all came out amazing and we are very happy with the service and craftsmanship we received. Would highly recommend! I recently had a new hardwood floating floor put down in the main living area of our home. We were so pleased with the job that A Plus Carpet & Flooring did! The crew was a pleasure to have in the house - so polite and caring! We love the job they did of removing the old floor and laying the new one. Clean up was very nicely done, too. We have already asked them to come back and do another room. I highly recommend their work.

I hired A Plus to install engineered wood flooring in my basement and Shaw oak hardwood flooring throughout my home. The first part of the project went smoothly. Two of their regular installers did a great job installing Mirage engineered wood flooring in the basement/family room. Unfortunately, I was informed the day before installation of the hardwood flooring, that a "different team" would be used.

This different team turned out to be a subcontractor "Mario" and his crew. In all 5 of these workmen showed up at my house and were allowed to install the hardwood flooring unsupervised. There are significant issues with the quality of the installation. Most notably gaps were left between the stair rail and flooring and there are numerous gaps and cracks between the planks throughout the house.

Even more concerning some planks are tented, i.e. not laid flat, at the back corner of a bedroom, as if there is was not enough space. After initially agreeing to reinstall some of the flooring, Eric has apparently decided to apply wood putty in the middle of my floors to cover up wide gaps. Wood putty was also used to fill the gaps between the flooring and stair rail.

I will now have to pay another contractor to fix the mess left by Mario's guys. I hold A Plus fully responsible for this fiasco. In response to A Plus' claim that these cracks and gaps which I discovered within a few days of installation were caused by varying levels of humidity in my home, the humidity level was approx. 30 percent April 6 when the flooring was installed.

In the following weeks, the levels were in the mid 40 to mid 50 percent range and temperatures in the 70s. Thus I do not believe the assertion that drastic changes in temperature and humidity caused expansion and then contraction of the wood and the various cracks and gaps is a credible one. They were clearly caused by improper work. Oh and BTW I have 10 year old wood flooring installed by the builder which has never expanded and contracted to the point of visible gaps in the flooring.

The purportedly unbiased inspection report published by Eric contains a number of demonstrably false statements apparently intended to benefit the installer. (Gee, I wonder how that happened.) The humidity levels are no more unstable in my home than in any other home. The report falsely states that my home has no dehumidifier. Just like about every other modern home, I have central A/C and humidity levels are in the low to mid 50s in the summertime. Gaps and cracks between the planks may occur during periods of very low humidity such as occur during the winter months. No such periods of extremely low humidity levels can account for the gaps. They are clearly related to poor workmanship.

I had a wonderful experience with A Plus. I had a carpet that needed a repair and reached out to several carpet companies through Yelp. A Plus responded quickly and they were able to give a fair and reasonable quote through pictures I emailed to them. The scheduling was easy, the workers were prompt, wore masks, and did excellent work. We have plans to update our floors and carpets over the next few years and will definitely be reaching out to A Plus again!

After our basement flooded two years ago, we were able to save the original carpet and looked for a company that could reinstall it (after taking the proper measures to waterproof the basement). After getting some other estimates, we went with A Plus Carpet based on their price and their positive Yelp reviews. Ron came to the house and inspected our rolled up carpet that we had stored in our attic.

He confirmed that they could reinstall it with a new pad and disinfectant. He got us a great deal (roughly $800 for a 350 square foot space). My only complaint is that the communication wasn't always reliable; I had to follow up a few times before confirming the job. The team that arrived was fast, friendly, and efficient. I'm not sure if two of them spoke English (I speak Spanish, so we had a nice chat), but at least their foreman spoke English very well.

They finished before their estimated time. The carpet stood up well to a steam cleaning and we love having our basement back. I hope to not need A Plus's services again, but if I do, I would happily go back.

Purchased a new home in the Catonsville area and Jonathan C. and his team did a beautiful job screening and polishing the woods floors. Reasonable prices too. Prompt and professional. Would highly recommend.

I had my carpet cleaned by Thomas, who did an exceptional job! You can see from the before and after photos I have attached that he had his work cut out for him, and I wasn't sure the carpet could ever get much cleaner. We found A Plus Carpet and Flooring through an online search and chose them due to the high reviews. We used this company to have our carpets stretched and our kitchen vinyl repaired. We received a fair estimate, kind customer service and were scheduled for the job quickly. Our technician, Thomas, called before arrival and was right on time. He was kind, courteous and skilled. Thomas went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of! This company, and its employees, really helped provide a good service to our family during what could have been a stressful time and we are so glad we used them!

Working crews should be trained in making a good first impression. Looking neat and presentable is important. 2. Workers should wear a company uniform to make them look professional. 3. Crew supervisors should be trained in supervision skills as they oversee those crew members less experienced.

Just a wonderful experience getting the whole house hardwood floors done with A plus. Jonathan was very prompt in giving the estimate and followed up to answer or modify things we thought of later on. Very communicative throughout the process and followed through everything he promised. Fabrizio the installer was very knowledgeable and communicative.

He steered us towards making the right choices without being condescending or pushy. His passion for his work came through every interaction we had. Finally Franklin was very good in helping finish up the last details. Would recommend highly to anyone looking to get hardwood flooring.

I hired A+ to install a kitchen floor. They did a pretty good job. They were prompt and courteous. The installers did a pretty good job but there were imperfections in the grout. The grout also cracked around one tile. I called about the problem and they did send the team back to fix it. The floor looks much better now. I am quite satisfied and will probably use them again.

We had 3 bedrooms recarpeted by A Plus and it was the easiest, most efficient process ever. Jonathan made our buying process super easy, providing helpful advice without being pushy which allowed us to get the best bang for our budget while considering options we hadn't thought of. Installation was super quick, the crew of 2 guys showed up and in less than 3 hours had moved all the furniture, took up the old carpet, installed the new carpet, and put all the furniture back. The carpet and install job look great! If we ever need more flooring, we will be back.

I have had two large projects completed by A Plus now. Our first was installation of beautiful hard woods in my kitchen and family room. The workmanship and quality are outstanding which is why I called them back for a second job. This job entailed sanding and refinishing existing hardwoods in a heavy traffic area of my home including foyer, powder room and hallway off the garage.

A Plus did an amazing job refinishing these floors and restoring them to their beautiful condition. A Plus made sure I was completely satisfied with my project. We used Aplus to refinish the hardwood in our house and replace the kitchen floor. We had them come out a year ago to sand and stain the hardwood floors in our living room and kitchen, and then asked them to come back out this past spring to match the bedrooms to the hallways. The workers were pleasant and professional and the final product was outstanding.

There was a problem with the color of the stain and it was not matching between our hallway and the bedroom. After waiting for it to dry, they came back out and agreed. The team then came back and redid the work and it came out wonderful! Everyone who works there is always helpful and pleasant to speak to on the phone or in the store. A wonderful experience and we will definitely be using them again. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer service set them apart from other flooring companies.

Two men came and cleaned my three areas and stairs very quickly back in June. I wasn't asked to pay extra for spotting, but they sprayed "areas of concern" let us say, and made my carpet look like new. The cost was comparable to other companies, and the crew was prompt and professional. I also was able to get an appointment on very short notice (within the week). I would definitely use this company again, and highly recommend.

We used A+ to do a carpet repair. My exchanges with the owner were great. When we set up the repair, we were told the repair team would arrive at 8 am. When they hadn't arrived by 8:30/9:00 we called the office and were told they went to another job first and would be there in two hours. By 11:00 they had still not arrived, so we called again.

When I had contacted the owner originally, he responded that padding would be included in the cost (I knew we did not have enough). The estimate was emailed to my husband and we unfortunately didn't catch that padding was not included (our fault). As a result, we had to run out and buy a whole roll of junky padding ($40) in the middle of the install (we could not purchase a 4'x4' piece).

The undersized piece we had originally, the installers took with them when they left. The intention was not only to have our carpet repaired as an interim solution, but to find a local flooring company to replace carpeting and install hardwood flooring throughout our home. We had a very bad experience with a Big Box store and will therefore not go that route again. Our search continues.

These people were quick efficient and most importantly they installed great flooring that made my home look so much better at a reasonable price. I absolutely recommend them.
